Vodafone is the largest telecommunication company for mobile telephony in the world. The successful and internationally-oriented company distinguishes itself through a very open and informal culture that aims to stimulate, inspire and challenge people. This culture is also reflected in the Management Development process and in particular in the choice to include a management simulation in the MD program.

Simenco also contributed to the success of Vodafone in the Netherlands and Vodafone in Germany. For the Business Management Course and the Young Talent program we provide and support a simulation-based learning program. The learning objectives are:

  • Making decisions under uncertainty.
  • Knowledge of the business implications of their decisions from an operational and strategic perspective.
  • Insight into the mutual dependence of five management disciplines: marketing and sales, operations, research and development, finance and human resources.
  • Understanding the importance of teamwork for effective decision making.

The program lasts six months, with the management simulation fulfilling an integrating function. The simulation is offered in blended form, with the kick-off, intermediate and final evaluation being ‘live’. At the end of the program there is the presentation of the Vodafone Business Challenge Award for the best team.
